Dangerous jungle gyms

I thought these had all been ripped out and replaced with "safe" toys.

I thought these had all been ripped out and replaced with "safe" toys.

Thoth is still going strong, year after year. Pants though, instead of his usual loincloth. Must be slightly under the weather.

I imagine this was for a skit on Letterman, rather than a real show. But who knows, I've heard of worse ideas.

On one of the first nice weekend days in a while, I went out for a walk and wound up walking on the streets around the Lincoln Tunnel entrances. For some reason, I found this view interesting.

Looking North

This isnt a secret since it's been written up, but this place makes a pretty good chicken kebab.

This was a particularly bold turn. Just go across the sidewalk, it's ok. 10 seconds later, a woman walked by and kicked the side of the car :)

There's a parking lot in between

This is pretty smart. It's a way to change the sign on the truck quickly. They just unbolt it and roll it up.

This is the line to replace cable boxes on a Saturday afternoon
Just a note for someone trying to make their Tivo work with their new Time Warner Cable Samsung HDTV cable box. Instead of Samsung, you should choose the "Pace" remote control settings.

I've been several times now and though I love the idea of it, I havent found any of their desserts to be great, except for their S'mores. Which was a special one time.

This is one way to make sure there's room to walk. On Friday nights, this is a dangerous area to be a pedestrian.
I've been upgrading components this week. Switching from a series 2 Tivo to a series 3 HD Tivo is an overall win. The multi card lets you record two different shows at the same time. Plus it can record HDTV.
The Apple TV goes along with it really well. Anything on itunes can be viewed and played on your TV.
Plus, I was able to pull several components out (like my old tuner) and donate them, freeing up a lot of space.

Wow!

I was just in the neighborhood, I just couldnt believe how long the line was. I hope the Upper West Side one opens up soon.

Getting ready for the horde on an early nice spring day

The horde in full effect

Spring appears to have sprung. I hope it lasts more than a few days.

Alma is a sleepy looking bar and restaurant in what I believe is Carrol Gardens in Brooklyn. It's right next to the waterfront.

The roof deck is quite nice with great views of Manhattan. Plus the guacamole is delicious

I can't explain what this truck was, but it looked like a performance piece installation and had a sign for "Chicken" on the back bumper. Either way, quite interesting.

This building has been going up for a while, but it's halfway enclosed now.

I can't complain because I did get a few good bounces off of the cart path, by there was no way I could hit this as is. A short foot wedge allowed me to continue.

Very different from Feb 24, 2006.
I'm about to drop a months worth of photos from April 20th through today May 18th, so please keep scanning through. Enjoy

A dramatic brasserie, the food was good, but certainly not cheap or even affordable. I'm glad I went, but wont be making a habit of it.

Outside the Cuban restaurant, he was rolling cigars by hand. Fascinating.

This is for Callalillie.com

Old photos, but goodies. Check out the snow on the reflective globe. Credit for these go to M.
