A Big Big Thank You to Rachelle

rachelleb.com.gif

If you couldn't guess from the kind of random posts over the past 10 days, we've been away. "M" and I took a week off and went to France. Why France? Several reasons, but mostly because we've wanted to drive around Provence for a long time now and there were a whole bunch of museums we hadn't checked out yet in Paris.

The trip was great, as you'll be seeing over the next bit of time. We'll try to keep them short and topical, so skip the ones you're not interested in.

After looking around at the options and asking other prominent bloggers, there didn't look to be a good way to "prepost" articles and have them be published on a specific date. There were scripts that might have worked with older versions of mt and then there were some hacks I started to look at doing. Whether due to a lack of time or just because 3.0 is supposedly out now, I went for plan B, or should I say plan R.

I've followed Rachelleb's web site with interest for a while now. She was one of the first people I met at one of those blogger thingies. She and I have both lived in San Diego (though at different times) and it turns out she lived around the corner here in NYC for a while, though I didn't know her then. Thanks to my sister, I've spent a fair amount of time in Chicago, which is where Rachelle has now wound up. In fact, she's recently become an editor for the Chicago version of Gothamist: Chicagoist.com

She kindly stepped up and agreed to post our prewritten articles if it didn't look like I wasn't keeping up. Not surprisingly, it's difficult to get online in the Luberon and our hotel in Paris wanted to charge $30 a DAY for "weefee". As you can imagine, Rachelle helped out quite a bit.

With much thanks and a grateful heart, we wish Rachelle the best in her new role.
