They've closed off two lanes on 7th, 8th, and 9th Avenues as far as the eye can see. And they have one or two cops or rookies per intersection with their orange vests. It's supposedly for the buses to get between the hotel and the garden
All of the hotels and buildings have signs up like this now, with guards checking for hotel keys before letting anyone in. I've noticed about 10-15 people walking around Times Square with the bundles of convention badges around their necks.
While walking home, I saw a motorcade of black SUV's with Maryland plates. They made very good time going up the closed off lanes.
