Open House NY: Brooklyn

openhouse-bk-1.JPG

I had to go to Brooklyn this morning which wound up taking longer than expected. So instead of running back to Manhattan and seeing the High Bridge Water Tower, I had to console myself with going up into the monument at Grand Army Plaza.

Well, unless you get there at 3pm and the ranger has closed the line. Reminds me of yesterday's line at the Jefferson Market.

So, a quick review of the guidebook and my friend and I wander down to the Montauk Club. It's a beautiful old club, right off the park. The OHNY people definitely outnumbered the members, but as you'll see further down, we did not outnumber their children. We explored the bottom two floors. It appears people live on the upper two floors, or perhaps they're rooms for members. They of course encourage you to join.
