Puerto Madero is somewhat like the South Street Seaport in NYC. It's an area of old docks that have been restored to include residences, offices, shops and restaurants. There's four large dock areas, each with their own mix of places. All pretty upscale. It's right next to the microcenter and only a few steps away from our hotel.
We only ate at one restaurant in this area (last picture), but it's supposed to be one of the best in the city: Cabanas Las Lilas. It was probably the most expensive restaurant we ate at in Argentina, but it was still only $35 for the two of us for a large excellent meal. We did get stuck in the Gelato place for a while during a short rain shower though. I had to try a few flavors just to pay them back for the dry spot they let us stay in.
I love the old cranes they left after restoration. Interestingly, the ladders are still attached. It looked like you could just climb on up.
