Cape May

Memorial Day is traditionally a day for remembering the sacrifice of others, but it's also the start of the beach season. We had a wedding to attend in DC, but decided to make a road trip of it along the way. Our first stop was Cape May NJ.

We got in late at night and so drove around looking for a decent place for a decent price. The nicest places were either crazy prices or full, so we wound up at The Atlas Inn. It looked a lot nicer in the daylight and was only $122 a night (compared to $195 down the street).

The beach crowd hadn't arrived yet, but the town was clearly gearing up for it's season. Lots of restaurants and snack shops were open for business. I could easily see spending a long weekend here relaxing.

This pretty much says it all for how low key the town is.
