Transit Strike

transitstrike-1.jpg

So the city got a lot smaller yesterday. The radius of what was "close" shrank to a few blocks, rather than a few miles. What used to be quite normal: "I'll zip over there, then downtown, then meet you for dinner", became "I wonder how I can get there without having to rent a car."

Although many people were in good humor about the events, taking it all in stride, there were also a number of flaring tempers. Should be interesting to see what happens in a day or two.

What was ironic was that due to the restrictions on entering midtown, I'd never seen less traffic. Ever.
