Smart Elevators

This is the first time I've run into "Smart Elevators". Instead of punching up or down, you actually enter the floor number and it tells you which elevator will be going to your specific floor. Inside, you only have a door open and door close button.

It's a great idea. I wonder how much more efficient it is.

Jennifer:

They have them at the Marriott Marquis. They are effecient (but I can't advise on how much more). They require a bit more signage than the normal elevator! People tend to wander into an open one, and then wonder why they can't select a floor.
