A new restaurant/food shop is about to open on Ninth Ave (betwen 48th and 49th st). I've been watching their renovations for a while now, trying to figure out what it will be. I stuck my head in the door and was told they'd be open tomorrow. I asked if I could take a picture and she smiled and said, "please no, it's a secret".
So I'll take another look tomorrow.

It's open and well worth the wait. Very cozy unique atmosphere...absolutely delicious Japanese desserts!!! Try the CHocolate chestnut moci cake!!! All the drinks are made with Japanese liquors and there is an extensive saki list. The seating is great for a couple or a larger group and the lighting makes you feel very comfortable.. I'm taking friends back tonight!
