I've found that participating IN the Village Halloween Parade is a lot more fun than spectating at it. This year was the 33rd occurence of it. Apparently, it's the largest in the country.
PS: The spider stays in the tower all year long.

I ran into this guy on the subway home from work. Every year, he buys another real piece of armor and replaces the plastic version.

I also saw this group on the subway. They were very lost.

So I was very surprised when I saw them again IN the parade.

Pee Wee, riding his bike

the winking vampire

an evil sith

Alfalfa and his dog spot

Pac-Man and Ms Pac Man

every girl in the crowd knew who these two were, Tiffany jewelry boxes

a real life Jack O' Lantern. Yes, it's a real pumpkin

the Queen (she was recommending the recent movie BTW)

the "flasher" was having a ball. She even flashed a cop who couldn't help cracking a smile

Madonna and her recent adoptee

a delicate large ballerina

Depp in various incarnations

I loved this headless guy, his costume really worked

Papa Smurf was a big hit with the crowd

Bat Dog

I'm not sure what to make of this. That's a very large Barbie doll

Tom Cruise and future wife

Hands all over the dress

This was the second or third set of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

There were lot of Maria Antoinettes, though I'm not sure these two were actually trying to be her.

Spoon Man

Scary Shadow

Y'know, love our gays in West Hollywood, but their annual Halloween parade has become waaay over the top. It's more gauche than anything. I think. But this...This is a Halloween parade! These costumes are very original and fun. Thanks WIS!
