Annie Leibovitz: A Photographers Life

leibovitz-line.jpg

The other day we saw the PBS program American Masters: Annie Leibovitz. It was a fascinating 90 minute look into Annie's colorful career and life

I knew the show had opened a while ago at the Brooklyn Museum of Art. I looked it up and realized that it would only be up for two more days, oops!

Of course no pictures were allowed inside the gallery, but the real story was the lines. There was a huge line to buy tickets, which we neatly skipped by joining the museum. Members received another great perk since the museum had reserved an elevator for members only. Since the elevator was right next to the show entrance, we skipped the hour plus wait there too. On the way out of the show, we saw that the line actually wrapped around the entire American wing.

Anyway, the show was really crowded, but I'm glad we went. Even though we had seen most of the work the night before in the TV program, you get more time and a much closer look in person.
